Best Golf Courses Near Frisco, Colorado
Summer activities are in full swing in Frisco, and the glorious Colorado sunshine is calling us out to play! The clear skies and crisp mountain air has golfers from around the nation migrating to Summit County this summer to enjoy a game on some of the country’s most beautiful courses. Even if you’re not a pro, Summit County courses offer varied options for golfers of all skill levels.
As you may know, the Inn is centrally located in Frisco, Colorado and boasts easy access to all the best High-Country courses. We encourage you to come stay with us while summer’s still in full swing and venture out and explore some great courses while you’re in the area. Regardless of your experience (or lack thereof), the combination of spectacular views and perfectly designed courses makes Summit County the ideal spot to spend some time on the fairway.
Here are some of our favorites:
Breckenridge Golf Club
The Town of Breckenridge, located just 10.5 miles from Frisco, is home to one of the most elite golf courses in the United States.
This Jack Nicklaus designed course is a 72-par course with 27 holes. The course rests at an elevation of 9,300 ft., giving you a great advantage since your swings will send balls traveling further and straighter.
Copper Creek Golf Club
Home to the highest tee box in America, the Copper Creek Golf Club provides an enjoyable yet challenging golfing experience.
Winding through the natural alpine terrain and towering pines, this 69-par course is designed to present you with exciting challenges and scenic pleasures.
Keystone Ranch and River Courses
Just 20 minutes from the Inn, the Keystone Resort has two stunning courses, each with their own breathtaking views. These two classic mountain courses have made Keystone one of the most respected golf resorts in the nation. The front nine at Keystone Ranch resembles a tradition Scottish course, while the back nine offers a rolling mountain valley layout. The River Course at Keystone is a championship course offering a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Dillon.
Raven Golf at Three Peaks (Top-Rated Course)
The lush fairways and immaculate greens are just a couple of the reasons why the Raven at Three Peaks Golf Club is considered one of the top courses in the country, and the best mountain course in Colorado.
Located in Silverthorne, the course is surrounded by pines, and snowcapped peaks. With one visit to the Raven Golf Club, you will understand why they are ranked one of the top 10 courses to play in the United States.
Vail Golf Club
Just thirty minutes west of Frisco, the Vail Golf Club offers 18-holes and a spectacular driving range. The course winds through beautiful terrain along the Gore Creek on the eastern side of Vail.
Eagle-Vail Golf Course
Located about 35 minutes from Frisco in Avon, between Vail and Beaver Creek, Eagle-Vail Golf Club offers a scenic and approachable mountain golf experience set along the Eagle River. Surrounded by mature trees, open meadows, and views of the Gore Range, the course blends natural beauty with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
This 18-hole championship course features a mix of wide fairways and tighter, tree-lined holes, with water coming into play on several holes to keep things interesting. At just over 7,000 feet in elevation, it plays slightly lower than many Summit County courses, making it a bit easier to adjust to altitude while still enjoying the benefits of added distance.
Eagle-Vail is known for being well-maintained and less crowded than larger resort courses, making it a great option for golfers looking for a quality round without the pressure or pace of busier destinations. With a layout that accommodates all skill levels, it’s an excellent choice for both casual players and experienced golfers seeking a more relaxed mountain round.
Mount Massive Golf Course
Set in the rural Arkansas River Valley, the Mount Massive Golf Course is the highest course in the continent.
This nine-hole public course, located in Leadville, Colorado, 30 miles from Frisco, is surrounded by the San Isabel National Forest. If you are looking for an affordable and friendly course, the Mount Massive Golf Course is just the place to be!
