Our Innkeepers and Staff
Bruce
Owner
Owner Bruce Knoepfel has traveled extensively worldwide, having visited 100+ countries through his various passions, both professionally and recreationally. He loves bringing the influences of his favorite visited places to his favorite place of all – the Frisco Inn on Galena.
Bruce is an avid skier and competitive road cyclist. He enjoys photography, trail running, golfing, mountain biking, scuba diving, inspiring new creative projects, and traveling to discover hidden gems, often on his bicycle. He would love to hear stories about your adventures and share some of his own with you. Through all of his ventures, he is amazed at the aloofness of the travel industry throughout the world and has vowed that all of his patrons will feel pampered, and no one will ever feel neglected, as a guest of the Frisco Inn.
Bruce invites each of you to join him and his staff, to experience the unique comfort, service, and insights about the area, that the Inn provides. Bruce lives in Frisco.
Avery
Resident Innkeeper and Director of Guest Experience
Innkeeper and Director of Guest Experience Avery Maxwell leads guest services and brand development at The Frisco Inn on Galena, blending heartfelt hospitality with thoughtful strategy to help every part of the Inn operate smoothly and intentionally. He oversees front office operations, supports outlet growth—including Mt. Royal Coffee, the Spa, the Gift Shop, and the Inn’s expanding food and beverage offerings—and works closely with the owner to strengthen the Inn’s presence, performance, and charm.
Originally from North Georgia, where he spent much of his childhood exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, Avery brings a deep appreciation for connection, curiosity, and the power of place. He’s a world traveler, avid reader, and always on the lookout for new ways to help guests feel at ease and inspired.
When he’s not welcoming guests or crafting the next campaign, you’ll likely find him running a 5K, lifting at the gym, or hosting a reading in Plato’s Corner, a quiet evening gathering in the library featuring reflective readings and discussion-based activities. Avery is proud to be part of the story unfolding at The Frisco Inn—and honored to help shape the guest experience from first hello to fond farewell.
