4 Reasons to Visit Frisco, Colorado in Winter
Believe it or not, spring is right around the corner but there’s still plenty of winter weather left in Summit County. If you haven’t made it up for a visit yet this winter, we can give you at least four great reasons to make your way to Frisco before the snow melts.
Frisco Adventure Park
The views in Summit County are always breathtaking in the winter, but they are even better while enjoying a ride down Frisco Adventure Park’s tubing hill. Gather your friends and family and head to the park in the heart of Summit County just nine miles from Breckenridge, and minutes from Frisco’s Main Street. You can enjoy activities like tubing, a beginner ski and ride hill, and on the weekends, a “human hamster wheel” experience known as Tumble Bumbles. The park also includes the Frisco Nordic Center snowshoe trails and cross-country skiing. Or, if you’re looking for a scenic cocoa or dinner sleigh ride, they have that, too! Two Below Zero Sleigh Rides will take you and your crew on a sleigh ride through some of Summit County’s most scenic spots. You can’t go wrong with any of these winter adventures. There are so many great things to do in Frisco!
Ski Resorts
We know our second reason is a no-brainer, but we couldn’t leave it off the list. If you haven’t taken the opportunity to ski in Colorado, Frisco is the perfect place to make your home base during your stay. With several of Colorado’s best resorts in our own backyard, you can’t go wrong. Keystone, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Vail, and Beaver Creek are each a quick jaunt away from Frisco so you can try them all in one visit if you’d like.
Meadow Creek Park – Ice Skating
You may already have an ice-skating rink in your hometown but there’s something about skating on a frozen pond in the middle of the beautiful Rockies in winter that makes this experience all the more enchanting. There’s a BBQ pit right next to the ice if you want to host a skating party, or you can just bring your own cup of hot chocolate and enjoy a skate with your friends. Keep in mind that you do need to bring your own skates for busting out those Olympic twirls. The park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is located behind Wal-Mart in Frisco.
