Keystone Resort

With the much-anticipated snow season finally here, it is time to take full advantage of the season and hit the slopes. Whether you are skiing, snowboarding, or just coming as a proud parent to watch the kids, there is something for everyone at Keystone Resort.

Located just 20 minutes outside of Frisco, Keystone Resort is made up of three mountains – Dercum, Outback, and North Peak – as well as five Bowls, offering skiing opportunities for every level. The mountain summit sits at just over 3,700 meters and there are 20 lifts on the mountain servicing 128 trails.

What to Expect at Keystone

Nearly 15% of the serviced trails are rated as easy skiing, while nearly 50% are classified as the most difficult terrain. Amongst these, there is the opportunity to visit several trails that are only accessible by hiking out, like the trails in the five Bowls.

Dercum Mountain is the closest mountain to the resort and contains most of the family friendly trails making it easily accessible for skiing, as well as for mid-day breaks, snacks, and hot chocolate at one of the many resort restaurants.

Moving behind Dercum Mountain, you find North Peak with increasingly more advanced terrain, as well as the home of Labonte’s Smokehouse BBQ and The Outpost. You can stop for a bite to eat at these places during your day on the slopes, or return in the evening via a gondola trip.

The Outback, the furthest and tallest mountain, offers skiing amongst the trees, as well as access to much untouched powder via a lift to the North and South Bowls.

Lodging at Keystone

With so much to see, so many trails to cover, and so many delicious restaurants to try, you definitely want to stay a while. Book yourself in at Frisco Inn on Galena to make the most of your ski adventure. The boutique-style bed and breakfast is only 20 minutes from the bottom of Keystone Resort, making it the perfect location for sleeping in and relaxing before you head out to the mountains for the day. Frisco Inn on Galena offers a smaller, more intimate setting compared to some of the other accommodations at Keystone, allowing you to enjoy some downtime, rest peacefully, and have a break at the end of the day when you return from the hustle and bustle of the slopes.

Frisco Inn on Galena has you covered when it comes to fueling up before (and after) your days on the slopes. Start the day with our continental or full breakfast and order a bag lunch to take with you to the mountain. We offer sandwiches and wraps, as well as fruit, water and dessert. Just order the night before and we will have it all ready for you to take with you in the morning! Most importantly though, don’t miss out on our daily happy hour. Starting at 4:30 pm, reward yourself after a full day on the hills with a complimentary glass of wine and a delicious selection of seasonal hors d’oeuvres.

Get ready

With your lodging booked and a plan of attack ready for Keystone’s ski and snowboard trails, it’s time to hit the snow. Plan ahead and purchase your lift pass online before you arrive to avoid long lines and get right onto the mountain. Depending on how long you are staying, or how frequently you will be visiting during the season, there are different pass options to suit you best, including 7-day passes, all-season passes, and options to purchase passes that will allow you access to several different neighboring resorts. While you’re at it, consider if you or members of your family will need any lessons and be sure to book them in advance to have the best pick of time-slots during your visit.

Winter in Frisco, Colorado is a sight to behold and Keystone Resort has something to offer everyone. Whether you want to ski for the day, ski for the week, or just spend all your time relaxing, we can’t wait to welcome you to Frisco Inn on Galena and look forward to being able to provide you with everything you need for a fun getaway.
