Robby Wicks Band

The month of May is chock-full of music and entertainment in the Colorado High Country. Arapahoe Basin’s Spring Concert Series kicks off this weekend and will last throughout the month, spilling into the beginning of June. Each week a new band will take over A-Basin’s Ski and Snowboard Area to put on a show for all who wish to dance and sing along. Here is the week-by-week breakdown for A-Basin’s Spring Concert Series:

The Robby Wicks Band

Taking A-Basin over on Saturday May 7th, The Robby Wicks Band blends folk with soul-rock to create a unique sound filled with intricate musicianship and soulful lyrics. The Denver-based band consists of three members: Robby Wicks on lead vocals and guitar, Taylor Biskup on lead guitar, and Matthew Taylor on the keys. Listen to the most notable tracks uniquely crafted by the Colorado-based trio and see their fan-favorite live performances to get a feel for their stellar stage presence.

Bonnie and the Clydes

Denver Westword’s 2013-14 ‘Best Country Band’ Bonnie and the Clydes, gallop into A-Basin on Saturday May 14th. The Colorado-native band combines strong songwriting, dynamic three part harmonies, and rippin’ guitar solos to provide fans with fresh, local country music. Bonnie Sims, lead vocalist and namesake of Bonnie and the Clydes, has been singing and playing instruments since she could walk and talk. Her band, or “the Clydes” consist of Taylor Sims on lead guitar, Jake Coffin on the drums, Glenn Taylor on the peddle steel guitar, and Caleb Roberts on the Bass. Winners of Rockygrass’ Best New Band Competition and fresh off the success of their debut album, The Railsplitters, A-Basin ride into A-Basin on Saturday May 21st. The Railsplitters couple distinct and undeniable sound with bluegrass tradition to create music for the open road, the open dance floor, and opening ears of the American West. It’s truly music made for all. Each of The Railsplitter’s members, from Lauren Stovall on lead vocals to Dusty Rider on the banjo, equally assist in developing such a unique sound. 80’s Rock – New Sensation

Prepare to get thrown into a time machine and taken back to days of stadium rock, MTV, and mullets. On Saturday May 28th, New Sensation features some of Colorado’s finest musicians who will perform classic hits from the 80’s best such as: Van Halen, Prince, U2, and Rick Springfield. Lead vocalist, Alton King, will bring you back to the “video days” and keep the party rockin’ all day long. On Saturday June 4th, the Colorado-based band Whitewater Ramble jumps right into the swing of things with their smooth “High-Octane Rocky Mountain Dancegrass” set. The Colorado-bred quintet combines bluegrass instrumentation with grassing-up everything from disco house grooves to Americana. This unique, boundary-less approach explores the music of multiple genres and fuels the band’s own mixture of original music and innovative cover song interpretations. High Five

Summit County’s own, High Five, caps off A-Basin’s Spring Concert Series with a jammin’, sensorial heightened experience on Sunday June 5th. The four-piece ensemble creates new harmonic atmospheres that transcribes in a musically inspired experience different from anything else. Unique covers and danceable originals set High Five apart.
