It’s that time of year again, when the streets will be filled with ghosts and goblins, princesses and pirates and other spooky creatures alike to celebrate Halloween. If you plan on being in Frisco or the surrounding areas this year, we have the perfect haunted happenings in Summit County to keep you both spooked and entertained this Halloween season.

This Thursday, October 30th, start off your Halloween with Nightmare Readings at the Summit County Library at 4 p.m. right here in Frisco. Explore and listen to ghastly tales from stories such as “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and other selections from Edgar Allan Poe.

After you’ve filled your ears with some creepy stories, head over to the Frisco Historic Park and Museum with a lantern in hand to explore the park during nightfall. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the museum will be open to those who are brave enough to revisit some horror classics. Gothic and Victorian attire is encouraged, and you can expect to snack on some delicious treats.

On Friday, October 31st, take your little ones down to Main Street for the best trick-or-treating in town. Businesses will be handing out sweet treats all up and down Main Street, and in the Frisco Historic Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will also be cartoons playing in the Historic Park Log Chapel for those who are ready to settle into a cozy spot and start enjoying their Halloween spoils.

If you’re looking for more of a fright after dark, we suggest visiting Frisco’s Haunted House, put on by Youth and Mountain Mentors. The haunted house is open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and tickets are sold at the door. Warning: a trip to this haunted house may require you to sleep with a night-light!
