The High Country is renowned for its ski slopes, great trails, fantastic sporting events, and relaxing vibe. However, the local towns also come alive with the sound of music, especially during the warmer summer months.

Therefore, to make sure you don’t miss out on some of the greatest events happening throughout August 2017, we’ve brought you the lowdown on how you can catch the last few of summer’s music events.

Enjoy High Country Music at Frisco’s Concert in the Park Series

Due to popular demand, the Concert in the Park Series returned to Frisco this summer. It started in June and will run all the way through to the end of August with the final concert being held on August 17th.

These events feature some of the best up-and-coming musicians while also supporting local non-profits in the process. The concerts are free to attend and take place at 120 Main Street at the Historic Park Gazebo and Lawn. Held every Thursday, they run from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, making them a great event for children and adults alike.

Here’s what you can expect if you attend one of the concerts in August:

  • On August 3rd, Davina & The Vagabonds will take center stage with all proceeds going to Friends of the Dillon Ranger District
  • On August 10th, the headline act is Parsonsfield and the non-profit beneficiary is Advocates for Victims of Assault
  • On August 17th, the final concert will feature Will Donato Trio and the beneficiary for this event is League for Animals and People of the Summit

All of these concerts are pet-friendly (dogs need to be kept on their leash) and all beverage proceeds go toward the beneficiaries.

The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre 30th Anniversary Celebration

On August 18th and 19th, three decades of music at this iconic location in Vail, Colorado, will be celebrated at the Gerald. R. Ford Amphitheater. Tickets start at $35 per person with a number of fantastic acts taking to the stage during the two-day event.

Here’s what you can enjoy during this anniversary celebration:

  • Friday 18th at 6:30pm, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real
  • Friday 18th at 8:30pm, Rodrigo y Gabriela
  • Saturday 19th at 6:30pm, Dead Man Winter
  • Saturday 19th at 8:30pm, Third Eye Blind

Single-day and two-day tickets are available. Or, if you want to make a real weekend of it, you might want to purchase VIP tickets. These tickets include free valet parking at Ford Park, reserved seating in a prime position, a commemorative gift, free beer for an hour before the gates open, a post-show snack, and access to the Mountain Experience Activity.
