December is officially here and if you haven’t made plans to visit Frisco in this lovely holiday season, it’s not too late. One of our favorite ways to celebrate this time of year is Frisco Wassail Days. If you’re not familiar with wassail, it is a hot mulled cider traditionally drunk by the English to ensure a good apple harvest the following year. Here in Frisco, we enjoy drinking wassail so much we’ve made it into a fun and fabulous nine-day event. Starting December 5 through December 14, local businesses serve up their own secret version of this delicious hot cider. And, if you make it around to all of the hosting locations and try every version, you’ll receive a commemorative mug.

During this nine-day event there are also several other holiday-related events that will put you in the spirit of the season. Check out the list below to make sure you don’t miss some of these exciting events this season.

Caroling and Santa

From 5pm to 7pm this Friday, December 5, be sure to hit Main Street to sing with carolers as they fill the streets with holiday music and help set the mood for the Frisco Holiday Tree lighting at 6pm. If you can’t make the festivities Friday night, there will be carolers again on Main Street on Saturday, December 6, from 12pm to 2pm, along with Santa at the Frisco Historic Park Museum from 10am to 12pm. Be sure to bring your camera to snap a picture of your child with Mr. Claus himself.

The Soup Cup Classic

On Sunday, December 7th, The Soup Cup Classic will take place at the Frisco Adventure Park Day Lodge. Cooks of all skill-levels will compete for the title of the best professional soup and best amateur soup. The best part? You, the guest, will be the judge!
