One of the many wonderful things about the month of September in Frisco is that the local towns of Summit County are alive with festivals and activities. From Keystone to Breckenridge to Frisco, you’re sure to enjoy what this side of the Rockies has to offer. And it all begins this coming Sunday in Keystone.

Taste of Keystone
This Sunday, August 31 from 11:00 – 4:00, head down to Lakeside Village in Keystone to sample some fabulous cuisine from local eateries. You can expect delicious dishes from restaurants such as Alpenglow Stube, Keystone Ranch, Bighorn Steakhouse, and the Black Bear Grill to name a few. If you’re a foodie, this event is not to miss. Purchase a tasting ticket and prepare to come hungry. For more information, head to the Taste of Keystone website.

Fall Fest in Frisco
Just a week later, book a room at the Frisco Inn on Galena and enjoy the walking distance to the Fall Fest in Frisco. Saturday and Sunday, September 6 & 7, come take part in one of our favorite Frisco hometown events of the year, Frisco Fall Fest. The event combines food, music and art to make this a jam-packed weekend that’s not to miss. Head down to Main Street and enjoy the flavors of Frisco, crafts and arts from local vendors and a free concert by Lez Zeppelin. This same weekend, you can also enjoy the Summit County Fall for the Arts Show in Frisco’s Historic Park and Museum where you can peruse regional and local art, meet local artists, or participate in make-and-take art projects for kids and adults. Breckenridge Oktoberfest
Just because you can’t make it to Munich for Oktoberfest doesn’t mean you can’t partake in the fun of this great festival. Breckenridge’s 20th annual Oktoberfest takes place September 12 to 14 and does its best to give Munich a run for its money. With German cuisine, traditional costumes, polka music, and lots and lots of beer, it’s a great way to experience Oktoberfest without an international flight. This weekend also includes collectable steins, a keg-tapping ceremony, 5K run and other activities all happening on Main Street Breckenridge. The cost of admission is $25 for a small stein and $30 for a large stein. Don’t forget to bring your ID! For more information, click here.

Farmers Market Downtown Dillon
The Farmer’s Market in Downtown Dillon usually runs from June to September every Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year, the Farmer’s Market year will wrap up on September 19. This is a great event for the whole family with more than 90 local vendors, live music and entertainment and lots of good people watching. This event makes our list as a must-do activity because September is the month to find some of the best and most unique fall decorations to get your home decorated for fall. And, the weather is perfect this time of year with crisp mountain air and lots of fall foliage changing.

One of the best things about the Frisco Inn on Galena is its proximity to local resorts and hot spots in Summit County. Keystone, Breckenridge, and Dillon are all only a short drive from Frisco, which makes the Inn a great home base for your Summit County excursions. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway this fall, book online or give us a call to book your stay.
